CHAAAAAAARGE! ARF ARF ARF ARF!
Hands off that ball, boy! It’s Jenkins’ ball now! You run towards him, just “arf arfing” away, teeth bared. Ralph quickly grabs his ball, then tries to climb back up the fence. But he’s too slow. You latch onto his ankle. “Come on Ralph!” comes a chorus of voices on the other side. “You can do it!” Ralph struggles up the fence, towing you along on his ankle, then clears the top. But you’re still attached to his ankle. You both fly through the air, with Ralph landing on his feet, and you crashing onto your side. The impact jolts you enough that you let go. Ralph is on his feet and running away with several boys. You take off after them. Ralph and the other boys are all screaming. “Arf!” you bark. Pretty soon, you’re all tired of running. You lay in the grass, panting. All the boys are bent over gasping for breath. “Wow, doggy,” says Ralph in between breaths. “You really gave us a good workout there.” “Arf,” you say, which translates to, “Yeah man, that was awesome. We just cleared that fence in like, one hurdle.” “What do you think Bobby?” says Ralph, talking to one of the boys. “Maybe we oughta put him on the team!” The boys laugh riotously. “A dog playing Sportsball?!” says Bobby. “Baloney!”
What would you like to do, Jenkins?
