Pale Blue Dot

This image, without knowing exactly what you're looking at, looks rather bland. In 1990, Carl Sagan wanted NASA to turn the Voyager spacecraft around (which was 13 years into its journey to interstellar space) and take a picture of the solar system.

This is Earth from 4 billion miles away.

"It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we’ve ever known."                                                                                  -- Carl Sagan
I don't know if anybody will read this blog.  Nor do I really care. But here's to hoping that world leaders, however narcissistic, selfish, and egotistical as they are, will spare this pale blue dot a nuclear war.
